Kaylee is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 7 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of clinical settings. Kaylee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ohio University, and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University.
Upon graduating from Ohio University, Kaylee began working as a Child Youth Specialist in a Trauma-Informed, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). In this high crisis unit, Kaylee provided individual and group treatment for children ages 5–18 with severe behavioral and mental health struggles. Working in this role allowed Kaylee to build skill sets such as collaborating with other professionals, supporting families, managing difficult behaviors, and understanding trauma-informed practices. While in this position, Kaylee found her passion for working with children and adolescents experiencing complex trauma, and ultimately made the decision to further her education to better support this population.
After receiving her Master’s Degree, Kaylee transitioned to working as a School-Based Therapist in a high need school district. In the school, Kaylee provides individual counseling for a caseload of over 40 elementary aged children. Additionally, Kaylee facilitates group therapy for students, offers teacher support groups, participates in IEP and other academic meetings, provides behavioral support in classrooms, engages in crisis intervention, and conducts Risk Assessments as needed. Additionally, Kaylee worked part time as an Outpatient Therapist, where she provided individual therapy for LGBTQ+ youth.
