Katelyn (Kate) Crouch is a dedicated professional specializing in child wellness and development with 12+ years of experience collaborating with parents, school administrators, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, teachers, behavior specialists, paraprofessionals, and clinicians. She has worked in diverse settings, including clinical environments, homes, and schools.
Kate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Kent State University and a Master’s degree in Intervention from Malone University. Upon graduating, Kate obtained a teaching position at an alternative school for students struggling with severe behaviors. In this role, Kate collaborated with school administrators and families to develop customized success plans for each student in her class.
While teaching, Kate earned certification as an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analyst) Therapist to support children and families of those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She provided direct services to young people with ASD and provided guidance for families on all aspects of their child’s service plan, including support with transitions, communication, and life skills. Through this experience, she discovered her passion for helping families learn how to support their children with challenging behaviors both at home and in school, with the ultimate goal of fostering success and happiness for both the child and the family.
Kate obtained her Master’s degree and was hired as an Intervention Specialist for Jackson Local Schools. Kate worked with admin to build a district-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program from the ground up for K-5 students requiring special services. She connected with and guided families of students who had been previously outplaced due to severe behavioral challenges, facilitating their reintegration to the district. Kate collaborated with parents and caregivers to develop plans for continued child and family success in areas like school attendance, implementation of reliable and consistent home routines, and continuity of behavior interventions between settings. Additionally, Kate trained and led a team of school professionals to successfully reintegrate these students into the general education setting.
In her most recent role, Kate served as both a program and project manager at PAXIS Institute, the official purveyor of PAX Good Behavior Game® and PAX Tools®, where she developed and disseminated evidence-based, trauma-informed programming to support families and professionals. She co-authored several new programs, including PAX Tools for Family Educators and PAX Tools for Youth Development, and contributed to the build and launch of other programs like PAX Tools for Caregivers, designed to support foster and kinship families. Kate also served as a global trainer, leading training sessions for families, family educators, and youth-serving professionals worldwide.
The culmination of Kate’s work experience led her to role at Passcode to Parenting. Kate serves as a Parent and Co-Parent Coach. She will soon serve as a Guardian Ad Litem and Parent Coordinator. She is also working to finalize her certification as an Ohio-based Prevention Specialist. As a consultant, Kate empowers families to make meaningful changes through actionable steps, helping them experience peace within the family unit and support their child’s growth and success. She follows a strengths-based approach, specializing in behavior modification that adapts to each family’s unique lifestyle and needs. The work Kate is able to do through Passcode to Parenting brings her great joy, as it aligns with her life’s passion of helping young people live their happiest and most successful lives.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Kate shares her life with her loving husband of three years.
